Engagement & Build Your Own Engagement Rings - BlueNile

Engagement & Build Your Own Engagement Rings - BlueNile
I have wanted to post this for some time now. In honor of my cousin getting engaged I thought I would post some information about choosing an engagement ring. I have found that BlueNile has a great selection of rings and many options in their Build your own ring, so you can choose your perfect engagement ring. In their build your own ring, you can start with either selecting your setting or selecting your diamond first. In the select your setting section, there are 4 styles: Classic, Vintage, Color and Sidestone. Classic and Color are usually a bit cheaper than the Vintage and Sidestone if the center stone is the same in all rings. I love the fact that there are so many options now in engagement rings. You can now have something that matches your personality. Many to most of the settings you can choose in Platinum, White Gold or Yellow Gold. I personally love Platinum, its a bit cooler and a bit of a dull grey and makes any diamond stand out more. The metal you choose is a highly personal choice. Next is choosing your center diamond. This can be a bit intimidating if you are unfamiliar with the lingo. Shape and Price are the most determining factors for most people, I suggest that you start with these two options first. Next for many is either Carat or Color. It is the dream for many to have a 1 ct. center stone, but what many don't know is that you can get a diamond just under 1 ct. with better qualities cheaper than one that is 1 ct. As for color anything above J is good, D is the best of coarse. Cut and Clarity are also very important and often forgotten about. The better the cut and clarity the more sparkle your diamond will have. For Cut I suggest Good and above and for Clarity I recommend VS2 to FL. By BlueNile they have added some new Advanced Criteria that you can also choose from, many of those options are for those who are more educated in Diamond terminology and usually are unimportant to the general buyer. I hope my information helps anyone looking for an engagement ring. Still have questions or need some help? I would gladly like to help, contact me and I will do my best to advise you. Check out BlueNile to find your perfect engagement ring.
